The Principality of the Painted Skies is a collection of local Amtgard chapters in Western Canada, as a subgroup of the Kingdom of the Northern Lights.
Founded in Spring 2026, the Principality is nurturing our lands and growing local leadership as we move along the path to bid to become the next Kingdom of Amtgard.
Amtgard is a free to play, Live Action Roleplay Swords and Sorcery boffer combat game that features magic, monsters, and themed games. Imagine if your D&D campaign jumped off the page and into your local community park.

CalendarThe Board of Directors provides leadership for mundane and organizational matters.
The Principality hosts a collection of official events that draw members from all across Western Canada, with many visitors joining us from afar as well.
Coronation and Midreign events represent the point where the Monarchy Offices change reigns, on an alternating six month schedule.
Coronation is the event where the newly elected Monarch, Champion, and Regent assume office. One reign begins as the previous reign ends.
Midreign is the event where newly elected Prime Minister and Guildmasters assume office.
This July, Interior BC will feature the War of the Flowers event, a classic Amtgard campout. See more info here.
The Principality of the Painted Skies is composed of many constituent Amtgard groups, known as “lands”, that meet at least weekly to participate in battlegames, sparring, crafting, and many other activities.
